The 6-month long Padayatra undertaken by our former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar Ji fromKanyakumari to New Delhi has become an integral part of India's political history. Times have changed since then and with them values and principles of our society along with the Nation have gone through a sea change. Today, the painstaking struggles he and the padayatra went through during this long and arduous March is unthinkable for most.

Sridhara Tumari has meaningfully documented the photographs of this padayatra. The author’s effort has been to cover through photographs and explain in a vivid manner the purpose and meaning of such a unique effort.
